Quick Response During a Heart Attack

Either chest pains persist for more than 15 minutes or no symptom is present when a person has a heart attack. Heart attack symptoms might also include persistent discomfort or pain in the neck or jaw, indigestion, and nausea, among others. These should not be ignored.

You must maintain your composure and assert your authority if this occurs. Call your local emergency medical services for help.

As the leading ACLS training in New York, we suggest these things you can do to aid your loved one before help arrives:

  • Have the victim remain calm and allow them to either sit or lie down, depending on their preference. Keeping them calm is more important than anything else.
  • Have them chew and swallow aspirin. However, avoid doing so if they are allergic to aspirin or their doctor has advised them never to consume it.
  • If the victim’s breathing suddenly stops, call for help immediately. If there isn’t anyone who can help, you may always contact 911 and they will send an ambulance service to pick you up.

At MedLife CPR, LLC, we teach up-to-date CPR and basic life support certification services including CPR, BLS, and ACLS training so you can spot these warning signs easily and immediately and respond accordingly.
